1st February Card Class

Not a lot happening, we've had a nice lazy weekend. I've made a few thank you cards (finally) for Christmas and birthday presents. Packed some orders, done a layout, played chess (numerous times!), made a worm farm, made crystals (did I mention how much Billy loves Backyard Science?), about six loads of washing today. Okay well it felt like a lazy weekend!

Just a quick blog to upload my class cards for Wednesday night. Simple cards, stickers, scrunching, inking, ribbon, flowers, brads, and one has a removable bookmark. Come along for some fun if you can - Scrap The Lot.

Paperbag album class

Tonight I did another paperbag album class at Scrap The Lot, so these pics are for the girls who are staying up late to finish it! Thanks for the fun class, and for letting me get back into the swing of it.

February Guest Designers

Thank you to Sally & Linda who will be the Lime Tart February Guest Designers. They both have their kits now, ready to start creating and have told me they are really impressed. Actually this is what Sally said "I love love love my kit. Aren’t those papers to die for!!! The fabric too." Oops that may give something away, lol. But she is right, the papers are just so nice! In both kits!

Of course both kits are limited in numbers and newsletter subscribers do get a first sneak peek before I tell everyone else. There will be some more exciting news on the 1st February when I send out the sneak peek, so if you want to be the first to know.... do go and sign up for the newsletter.

In the meantime I am busy searching CHA sneak peeks so I can buy more paper! Don't forget to email me any feedback about the kits, it does help. You will start to see a change in the 6x6 kits due to some awesome feedback I received. Thanks Linda!

Taronga Zoo

We left at 6am this morning to drive to Sydney for the day to visit the zoo. The kids were very well behaved and had a lot of fun! My favourite animal would have to be the giraffes and I think I got some pretty good photos of them. Time will tell when I have the film developed. I did have the little digital with me also and I got this photo of the kids on the way home. Which is what I should be doing right now!

An Ar-Ar Bird

B - Look mum there's an Ar-Ar bird.
Me - What's an Ar-Ar bird? (in my mind I was thinking R-R bird).
B - You know mum, a bird that goes Aaarrrr, Aaaarrrrrr.
Me - Oh a crow?!

ROFL!!

Not a lot happening, just trying to keep children amused during the holidays, there is only so much painting, playdough, movies, craft, plays, books etc...

Tonight I am running a cyberstamp evening at Stamping Top 50, come along and have some fun, prizes donated by Little Scrapbook Shop.

A nice mail day today, I bought a few unmounted stamps on Tuesday night and they arrived today, all the way from WA! Go check out Joyce's shop, there is some nice unusual stuff there - Paper Forest Designs.

So on that note, I'm off to ink them up!

Happy Birthday...

...to my little man! He turns a whopping great 7 today! We went out with the family on Saturday night to Zefirelli's for pizza, his favourite food. Last night I asked him what he would like for dinner tonight and it couldn't be pizza. He couldn't think of what else he would like and then out it popped - macaroni and cheese! Ewwwwww! So macaroni and cheese it will be, and then I'll have to think of something special for dessert. We'll put on a party for his friends once school starts back, and this year he has decided it has to be at home as the other parties he has been to at Kidcity are boring, and it must be hulk themed, oh and there must be a pinata - homemade. Doesn't want for much, hey ;).

Just stuff....

Not a lot has been happening this week, except for the constant "I'm bored" comments. We went to the Botanic Gardens on Sunday (without a camera!) and they are so nice. I purposely left my camera at home so I could just wander. The Gardens have a rainforest walk that is stunning, the temperature difference is amazing. The kids enjoyed lizard spotting, with Peggy saying "can I pat it", then running away screaming when one took two steps towards her!

Yesterday we went shopping for new school bags, lunch boxes, drink bottles etc. A bit sad actually as my baby starts preschool this year.

Lime Tart orders are going off and I have only one January 12x12 kit left! I finalised my shopping for the February Kits today and they are nice, even if I do say so myself, lol.

I've also been able to see what the January Guest Designers have been working on and all I can say is WOW!

Okay must be off, we are rock painting and bug collecting this afternoon!

Good mail week

I've been receiving heaps of fun mail this week! First of all I received this in the mail -

It's a little cheerleaders-rahrah-shaker-thingy! I got that as a Christmas present from US Papercrafts magazine, lol. How cute!

Then I got my Hero Arts 2006 catalogue and free stamp for getting the Honourable Mention in their last comp. Do you know how hard it is to decide how to spend my winnings?! I ended up choosing nine new stamps and I can't wait to get that parcel in the mail!

Then, also from the US, I got my copies of Card Creations Favorite Occasions -

and here's my card in the mag -

I also got back my Friends and Flowers Circle Journal, nearly 12 months to the day it originally left my hands, and boy is it nice!

Other than that I've just been entertaining children! How many weeks left of the holidays?

Happy New Year!

A new year, wow don't they go by so quickly!

Yesterday we celebrated our ninth wedding anniversary. Nine years ago we got married in Las Vegas and what an amazing day and night it was. On New Year's Day we flew to San Francisco, very, very hungover. So nine years later we leave the children at grandma's and go out to a very nice little Turkish restaurant and then out to see Harry Potter at the movies. What a difference, lol! But fun. Now on to planning something special for our tenth anniversary.

Today has been so hot we have just sat inside all day by the airconditioning, thank goodness for modcons.

Today, I also sent out the Lime Tart January Sneak Peeks to newsletter subscribers. I'll pop them up on the site over the next few days for those that don't get the newsletter.

Have a safe, happy, healthy and fun 2006!
