A confession....

Yes, I have a confession to make... I can't keep up! Yes that is right - the Lime Tart kits are flying out the door and I haven't even put a sneak peek up yet! We have already sold more April kits than March kits so that means that there are only a few more left.

I asked Nic to give me a little rundown on what she thought of the kit and this is what she said - "Opening the April Lime Tart Kit was just like Christmas. The colours are bright but have a depth to them that have meant I have been able to use them for both pretty and masculine projects. With carefully chosen embellishments in swirls and florals to match, this Lime Tart kit is the very definition of gorgeous." Nic also told me that she had a million other things to get done but she has been too caught up with this kit because it is so much fun!

I also can't keep up with the free subscription gifts! I keep ordering them in and they are going out the door before I can load them on to the site! But rest assured I have some more great stuff coming in.

The May kits will be going out to our guest designers next week and then we will be looking for new and exciting things for the June kits.

On another note, I have a card class on Wednesday night at Scrap The Lot so here is a little sneak peek of what we'll be doing in the class. Give the girls a call if you would like to come along.

I got some ATCs done during the week for a swap I am in. We had to use Maryse Carrier stamps. Here are three that I did.

Family stuff - mmmmm it's been a bit of a tough weekend with Billy having an allergic reaction to something. He just broke out in hives on Friday night. After a dose of antihistimine he was okay but then it happened again on Saturday night! No amount of coaxing would make him have another tablet so we had to ride it out :( we think we have it pegged to a new brand of washing powder, so here's hoping that is all it is...

Long weekend

Today was Canberra Day so of course was a great excuse for a public holiday. We got up nice and early and went down to Old Parliament House for what seemed like very small celebrations compared to past years. It was also Navy Day and they run a promotional whatsy in conjunction with everything else. We wandered past the helicopter and promised the kids that next time we saw Uncle Ben then he would take them on a tour. Well lo and behold, next thing - we run into Uncle Ben! Of course he couldn't leave his promotional stand thingy to take us up to the helicopter but the kids were too shy to ask anyway, lol.

The girls had a ride on the teacup ride and looked very dizzy! Billy had a few goes on this HUGE slippery dip and loved it. Then the obligatory go on the moving clown heads for an el cheapo prize and we were off to the Pancake Parlour for brunch.

Other weekend duties were painting the dining room. I now have one absolutely gorgeous orange wall. We filled in the 'spare' front door and hopefully next week I will be painting the concrete stairs that lead up to our front door and also the new spot which used to be the old front door (long story, lol).

I also got the old faithful MM rubons out and put this on one of our dining room walls and I LOVE IT! Now I have to invite some friends around for dinner ;)
Mmmmm it doesn't show up too well! It reads "If you accept a dinner invitation, you have a moral obligation to be amusing. - Wallis Simpson - "

A fried monitor

No not a lizard but my computer monitor! Yes my poor old monitor blew up when the power went out last night *after* the storm passed! So I was without computer from 10pm last night until 6pm today. You don't realise how much you depend on them! Luckily I was out all day with other things so it wasn't too bad, lol.

Thanks to Nita and hubby for lending me a spare monitor for a while. Although Tony went and got a quote on a new one. I was happy to buy a second hand monitor but it looks like I'll be getting a new LCD one, woohoo :)

Anyway I logged on to lots of emails but a particular one was just amazing!! Go and check out Lauren's blog and her amazing work with the Lime Tart March kit! Stunning work Lauren and thank you for sharing it, I am loving those big photo corners and that curly bracket just looks so cool. Good luck on your big move, Lauren!

Lots of bits and pieces....

Firstly the gallery is up!!! Thank you Carole and Deb - amazing work!

The April guest designers are Nic Howard and Audrey Underwood. I can't wait to see their designs. The gallery just keeps getting better and better!

Now should I ask for a sleeping partner like Zina did, lol?

Okay, onto my brag. I got this magazine last week and forgot to blog about it, lol. It's the latest Scrapbook Creations which I have just found out has a new editor in Jannah Kelly. I love Jannah! She used to edit Stamping and Papercraft and she was so easy to work with. I love her style. Oh and don't forget that Sally is on the cover! Anyway onto my brag, I designed some work for Addicted to Craft for their two page ad that appears in SC and here it is. How cool is that!? Look carefully on the righthand page and you can see my name ;)

Tagged....

I've been tagged by Gabbie :)

What scrapbook lines/products etc do you dislike?
Stickers - even the really cool new style alpha stickers - I just cannot make them work :(

What is the hardest thing you ever had to scrap?
I don't think I've really tackled anything terribly difficult yet. There are a few things that I want to scrap about but haven't yet.

What technique do you use more than anything else?
Inking, stamping, sewing and prima flowers.

What is the smallest scrap of paper you save?
Yep very small for me too! My file is getting very fat and when it explodes, I normally do a cleanout and the kids win.

Have you ever had any scrapping related injuries?
Yes, I was piercing holes with a needle and it went up my thumb nail and came out through the nail!

Finish this sentence, “If I wasn’t a scrapbooker/stamper, I would spend my money on… clothes, hair, books - it seems we all have fairly similar ideas, lol”

Give your best storage or organisational idea
I love my purpose built stamp shelves! I was lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time to pick them up second had.

You just won a week long scrapbooking cruise for 5. Who is going with you?
Do I have to decide?!

When you received your first publication notification, who did you tell?
My hubby!

Now I would like to tag….
Marie, Michelle, Sally, Carole

A fun and creative weekend

A busy one too!! Friday I kicked off with completing three puzzle pieces for a round robin puzzle swap that I'm in. Funnily enough the one that I was dreading doing the most is the one that I like the most! The themes were 70's, green/pink friends, and teenage girl/pink.

On Saturday, we decided to reclaim the dining room and save it from it's new status as a scrapping room! So I resorted my other scrap area and it's now so nice and neat! That took me nearly all day! Then it was into the garden to clean up the playground and plant some sunflowers. I'm not sure if they will grow okay or not, but the kids wanted to do it and who am I to say no :)

Today we went off to ten-pin bowling. It is the first time I have bowled in nearly 20 years, so 20 years later, one knee reconstruction and a few more kilos, I think I have slightly pulled a butt muscle, rofl!! But we all had fun! Peggy won out of the kids, cause she had one of the aimer things where she just pushes the ball down a ramp. Tony and I both struggled to hit 100 in our first game - too funny! He beat me by two points in that game. The second game's scores were a lot more respectable! I beat him by 8 points and I got four strikes, three of which were in a row and it called it a turkey, lol, so you can imagine what the family have been calling me today :)

This afternoon I made sushi for the first time ever and it was very nice! I will definitely be adding that recipe to my recipe tin (when I make it).

Thanks for everyone who stepped in to say they would hold my hand at CC06, I really appreciate it! From the sounds of it we aren't going to get much creative stuff done, it's just going to be one big party!

Only two more days til the March gallery is up and the April designers are announced....

Crafting Connection

I forgot to mention on the weekend that I booked my classes for Crafting Connection in August. I'm very excited, albeit a bit nervous as I'm going by myself. Although I will 'know' lots of others there, I'm really quite shy and take a while to warm up, lol. Let me know if you are going too!

Other exciting news? No not really.... unless you consider packing lollies all day exciting?

Stuff

First up - thank you Leanne & Carole for your comments on my little album :) Leanne, it is made from a cigar tin which measures 8cm x 9cm. I was lucky that a customer brought in a whole shopping bag full of them for us to use.

Last night we went to Skyfire in Canberra. It was great, a lovely picnic dinner by the lake and then a great display of fireworks. Peggy finally took her hands off her ears to enjoy it too!

Today we went to the National Gallery and had a lot of fun! The kids couldn't get enough of the activities and not once did I hear "can we go home now?". We then topped it off with some nice frozen custards from Jigsaw.

I did miss out on a Hero Arts win this competition so here is my layout that I sent in for it.

Big congrats to Rach for her win again, and to Godelieve too. Godelieve is an amazing stamper, I really do love her work.

Okay must run and water my newly planted agapanthus before dinner....

Mini album class

Well nothing like leaving things to the last minute! I really do work better under pressure, lol. I have a mini album class at Scrap The Lot on Thursday night. Here are the pics so you can see what type of thing you will make. Of course, as with all my classes, you choose your own colours and embellishments. Ring the store to book in.

****SOLD OUT!!!****

How cool! Sold out on the 1st March, that beats last months record of the 6th February, lol. Hopefully next month won't be the same though as I have lots more kits coming in. I'm waiting on my last order to arrive, hopefully today and then I can see if what I have bought in actually matches - just joking!

B & M are off to their swimming carnival today so I am going to be pacing the house in constant worry. I don't go along as I know that I am too over protective and I will just hinder their independence.

So my job today is to tackle the house and maybe make a card or two, oh and pack a few more orders too!
