What a week...

Putting the October kits together - nice!
Preschool excursion - how can I get so tired just catching bugs with kids?!
Organising the Lime Tart 1st birthday celebrations.
Sifting through Lime Tart design team applications - nice!
Trying to keep the house tidy - impossible!
Missed Mary getting an award today for 'lovely manners' due to above excursion.
Didn't get a place in the Hero Arts comp but I know a few girls that did - well done! Gorgeous entries.

Here's mine:

I stamped the squiggle background in versamark and then drew over the top with a white gel pen to simulate doodling. The main image has again been stamped in versamark and then I used an anywhere hole punch to punch out holes and backed it with a contrasting colour. Hero Arts gems were popped into some of the holes.

Another entry that didn't win but I LOVE is Godelieve's here. She has done amazing stuff with the lace stamps. AMAZING!

You can see all the winners here. To play favourites - mine are 1st and 2nd in the Scrapbook/Card duo.

Smile ATC

I finally finished my Buzz & Bloom newsletter project last night! Woohoo! So to relax after that, I whipped up this ATC. I was inspired after seeing some children's playing cards in a toy catalogue, they were see-through also.

Stamps by Hero Arts, Tin Box Creations, SU! and Wood, Paper n Ink. Images sandwiched together with cold laminate. Details are stamped and written on the back of the circle.

Stay tuned for another swap, I have a theme in mind but need to check on something first. Monique - I was just thinking of you yesterday :) I'm glad they arrived safely :)

So....

...some of you like my new tool, lol. But you have no idea on what it's for!? Very funny ;)

Okay, Donna Downey used it in nearly all of her Kiwiscraps classes, and she referred to it in some very suggestive ways, lol. Anyway it is a drill and instead of using a hole punch and a hammer, or a Cropodile, you use the drill and boy oh boy does it drill through anything! The instructions on the back say to NOT use it on a normal craft mat as you will ruin your tabletop. We were using 3/4 inch thick blocks of wood at Kiwiscraps and it was drilling through that. Kylie knows as she drilled her finger! Well actually I think Lee drilled Kylie's finger, lol.

I love it because I can see the possibilities for so many more handmade journals. In fact if you have Donna Downey's Decorative Journals book you will see she uses it on nearly every project!

On another note - proud mum moment for me today with young Mary getting a VIC (very important citizen) award at school :) Her teacher phoned last night to make sure I went to the assembly.

Look what I got!

Arrived in yesterday's mail :) I have a drill and four drill bits, lol. I'm excited :)

I got it from Karen's Scrappin' Kupboard.

A 7 year old's joke...

B - Mum, what happens when a caterpillar crosses a crow?
M - I don't know, what happens when a caterpillar crosses a crow?
B - Drumsticks for everyone!
M - (silently thinking what in the world is he talking about!)
*lightbulb moment*
M - Ahhhhhh, very funny.
M - Don't you mean "What happens when a caterpillar and a chicken have babies?"
B - Oh yeah.... that was it!

Very cute!

Lime Time ATCs

I'm hosting a swap at Time2Stamp and the theme is Time. So here are my ATCs. I've stamped the lime onto acetate using White Staz-on. The clock hands are photo turns. The little lime wedge is my Sunday uninked rubber challenge.

Stuff to look at...

If you haven't seen it already, the September Lime Tart gallery is up and looking gorgeous. We've also popped in a new link for the archived galleries which should make it easier to view.

Scrapbooking Top 50 are hosting a treasure hunt and one of the prizes is a Lime Tart kit, so pop on over there and start hunting.

A new Lime Tart newsletter will go out next week with some very, very exciting news, so if you haven't signed up for it yet, what are you waiting for?

I've been working on my Buzz & Bloom projects this week and have decided to really think outside the square for what I normally do, and I have had so much fun! I think I was flying high on mod podge fumes yesterday, lol, but it was so much fun! All will be revealed on the 1st October in the Buzz's newsletter, so sign up for that too!

Okay I'm off to weed the garden in this lovely spring weather!

AWOL

due to fundraiser tomorrow! What was I thinking when I volunteered for this?! Yesterday I spent three hours moving tables and chairs, today I have to design my class that I am teaching, lol, nothing like leaving it til the last minute ;)

It was a very nice mail week this week :) A couple of rubber parcels from the US and my first subscription mag from Scrapbook Creations. Gorgeous stuff in there, well done to the girls that I know that have articles in there. Oh and more Time ATCs arrived for the swap that I am hosting on www.time2stamp.com

I'm hanging out for tomorrow to be over!

Sob, sob....

I didn't win the huge furniture prize from Scrapbook Creations :( I got my layout back in the mail yesterday. Congratulations to whoever the winner is! You lucky, lucky thing!

Here is my entry:

Fruity atc swap:

They are all in! Woohoo, I've repacked them and they will be all back in the mail this week to you. Thanks for participating. They look great. I'll upload pics next week so as to not spoil the surprise.

My life is an absolute spin this week with finalising the fundraiser and a big meeting with the education minister about our school closure proposal.

The kids started their new term of swimming yesterday and they are doing so well. Billy is now in level three and I am so proud of him, for a little boy who didn't want to get his face wet at the start of the year, he is flying along. The girls are now in level two together and loving every minute of it.

Plus spring is here! And doesn't my garden know it, I love the smell, I have so many bulbs this year that I have been cutting them and bringing them inside. Normally I don't like to do that, lol.

Okay must continue printing flyers, packing prizes, goodie bags, oh and yes some Lime Tart kits to go in the mail too, lol, can't forget the Lime Tart kits!

Fast mail!

The phone rings at 8am this morning and it's the really nice Fedex man on the other end asking me if I was going to be home today as he had a parcel. Woohooo, my MM Celebrations book that I won has arrived. Very nice!

Fundraiser update....

Get in quick, limited spots now left.
I've been collecting prizes today and oh boy, I think they may have to stay in my craft room! Think MM Boho, think Prima, think BG ribbon, think Lime Tart kits, lol. I still have a few more to collect next week.

The girls teaching the classes have been filling me in on what they are teaching too, and they are good!

So yes, get in quick as I'm sure the last spots will be snapped up between now and next week and you do not want to miss out on these prizes and classes. Oh and I should mention the lunch! LOL, I have seen the menu and I know it's only soup and rolls but it's going to be GOOD soup! Nice soup, delicious soup (yeah yeah I know I'm just raving now....)
